EIU Country Financial Risk
EIU Country Financial Risk
EIU Country Financial Risk
EIU’s Financial Risk provides forward-looking intelligence on financial stability and the risk of financial crises across 130+ developed and emerging markets.
The service assesses 59 quantitative and qualitative risk factors covering monetary, fiscal and banking-sector vulnerabilities, alongside underlying political, structural, macroeconomic and market conditions.
Its risk-modeling framework provides an overall Financial Risk score, alongside assessments of currency, banking sector, political and economic structure risk, helping users identify potential vulnerabilities and compare risk across markets.
With a 12-month risk horizon, the model provides early warning of major financial crises, including balance-of-payments crises and large-scale banking sector insolvency.
By combining EIU’s macroeconomic and financial data with independent country expertise, Financial Risk supports risk monitoring, stress testing, portfolio analysis and strategic decision-making.
Each row is one countryCode and month (YYYYMM). The overall score is AVSC, with category scores for banking-sector, currency, political, and economic-structure risk, plus component indicators such as public debt, current-account balances, non-performing loans, exchange-rate misalignment, and access to financing. Query by EIU geography code, for example /US or /US/202401. date is the first day of the month (YYYY-MM-01).
